United Islands of Europe přiváží do Prahy 54 umělců z 9 zemí
(Promotion) Multižánrový festival United Islands of Europe - Freedom Edition odhaluje kompletní hudební program s více jak 50 hudebními objevy tuzemské i zahraniční scény. Mezi headlinery patří irské hvězdy Thumper a Tebi Rex, rapper Albi X z Německa, zástupci českého současného R&B Annet X a 7krát3 live band a polská zpěvačka Ofelia. Pro drtivou většinu zahraničních hostů platí, že pro ně bude hraní v Česku premiérou.
Nedílnou součástí festivalu je i nehudební program Ostrovy inspirace, který se stejně jako koncerty odehrává na Střeleckém ostrově a okolí. Vstupné na akci, která se koná už 10. a 11. června, je pro všechny zdarma.
„Návštěvníci se mohou těšit na skvělou akci s koncerty mladých umělců i na rozsáhlý nehudební program Ostrovy inspirace, který nabídne workshopy, promítání, výstavy i debaty. Celý program se odehraje na Střeleckém ostrově, Kampě, Janáčkově nábřeží, Dětském ostrově, parku Portheimka a Terase OC Smíchov a bude pro všechny zdarma. Nově oznámenou headlinerkou festivalu je průkopnice českého R&B, zpěvačka a rapperka Annet X, jejíž tvorba jí vyhrála ceny Apollo i Anděl. Kromě ní a 7krát3 vystřelila česko-slovenská nová jména zastoupená na festivalu do hudebního světa až po pandemii. Představují tedy jakýsi lockdown-baby boom hudební scény. Interpreti ze Slovenska zde tvoří neoficiální showcase jejich alternativní scény a patří mezi ně např. indie zpěvačka Timea, dvanáctiletá rapperka Lil Ash, rapperka Malvina s trapovým i disco-pop projektem, oceňovaná zpěvačka a skladatelka Nina Kohout, producent příjemné elektroniky Bulp či groovující trojice Sam Sandwich s fúzí elektroniky a kytar.
United Islands of Europe jsou výjimečné i tím, že všichni zahraniční umělci, které zve, kromě části slovenských jmen a polských jazzmanů Immortal Onion, budou v České republice vystupovat poprvé a nějakou dobu se k nám nejspíše znovu nepodívají. „České publikum má možnost přijít na premiérové koncerty zahraničních hvězd, včetně Irska, Německa i východoevropské hudební scény,” říká Kamila Buráňová a dodává, že se návštěvníci mohou také těšit na Klubovou noc, která se na United Islands po dvou letech vrací v plné síle.
Z Irska dorazí na festival celkem tři interpreti a všichni z nich patří mezi headlinery festivalu. Thumper jsou nekompromisní rockovou kapelou s moderním, ale poctivým zvukem a dvěma bicími soupravami. Dvojice Tebi Rex představuje alternativní hip hop spojující rap a zpěv a rapper světového měřítka JyellowL, jehož hudební tvorba se dostala i do televizních pořadů či soundtracku FIFA 20.
„Kytary přestaly být v hudbě dominantní. Novým popem je rap. Když jsme vybírali hudební objevy, nemohli jsme ho opomenout. Celý festival United Islands of Europe je tak silně laděný do žánrů a forem, které reprezentují hudební současnost, nikoliv minulost,” popisují výsledný hudební koncept dramaturgové festivalu z kolektivu Heartnoize.
